CEBU, Philippines - Last October 3, shutterbugs - amateur, enthusiasts and professional alike, gathered at the Family Park in Talamban. They were all there united for one common goal which was to do their share in helping typhoon Ondoy victims in Manila. They came with packs of food, bags of clothing, medicines, and other personal hygiene items. Participants also donated P200 each, and to think that there were more than 50 photographers who heeded the call, the money collected was quite significant for the purpose. Models and make-up artists also came to take part in the meaningful activity. Some even gave their services pro bono. Being a photojournalist myself, I wasn’t really fond of glam and fashion photo shoots, but it was the noble endeavor that led me to participate. It was indeed a rewarding experience. The whole event was spearheaded by the Photographers Club of Cebu.
