Campaigns Cebu Embarks on Shanghai Learning Trip
CEBU, Philippines - For three days, the busy offices of the number one advertising agency in the VisMin, Campaigns Cebu and Davao, were quiet as the whole company went on a learning tour of Asia’s New York, Shanghai, China.
Out to discover innovations in merchandising and to experience firsthand what another country’s advertising landscape looks and feels like, the entire staff of Campaigns Cebu flew to Shanghai recently, headed by Zen Pastoriza, General Manager and Executive Creative Director, and Vicki Pastoriza, Director for Client Service/Media.
“As a creative agency, we have to make sure that everyone is exposed to the bigger picture,” shares Zen Pastoriza, “this gives us more inspiration and insight about marketing and consumer behavior that we may use to help our clients.”
With their cameras (and some shopping money) in tow, the staff of Campaigns Cebu explored Nanjing Road, Shanghai’s kilometer-long shopping area; the Shanghai Museum that houses relics of the city’s past; and the iconic Yu Yuan Market – the most Chinese-looking area of Shanghai. Exploring the Bund and the French concession was also a treat, especially for the company’s photography enthusiasts. Bryan Onglatco, Associate Art Director of Campaigns Cebu, even went on to win the top prize in an internal photo contest, besting contestants from both the Manila, Cebu and Davao offices.
The team from Campaigns Cebu joined their counterparts from Campaigns and Grey (Manila), making the trip a bonding activity as well as a rewarding experience for everyone who joined.
A correspondence from Yoly V. Ong, Chairperson of Campaigns & Grey Manila, relates: “(it was)…a learning and team-building trip… It's our way of defying economic prophecies of doom, and reminding ourselves that when the odds are against us, that's usually when we do our best.”
