Myoh: another roaring success!

INTO THE SCENE - Han Kintanar -

CEBU, Philippines - Once again and much to thier delight, the Cebuano Havaianaticos were given the chance to express their own creativity during the annual "Make Your Own Havaianas" at the Atrium of the SM City Cebu Northwing over the weekend. The three-day event kicked off with an exclusive media and VIP launch the day before it was opened to the public.

Indeed an event which the Havaianaticos (Havaianas fanatics) were looking forward to after the first "Make Your Own Havaianas" started some four years ago, as expected was a roaring success. As early as the doors of SM were opened on the very first day of the three-day event, hordes and hordes of the metro's fashionistas all lined-up to get into the cordoned area and never cared how long the lines were. They simply just waited til their turn came to panic and assemble thier own pairs.

What impressed me most was the "Pinoy touch" of this year's MYOH. Pinoy-inspired embelishments such as a jeepney, sorbetero cart, Philippine map and vinta were available. The colored swarovski crystals, too, to decorate and create a personal touch to the flip flop one has created. For the pair I made, I opted for the yellow sole and black straps with the jeepney, the vinta and white swarovski on the left side of both straps. A masterpiece which two of my friends copied the next day.

Congratulations to Jaja Chiongbian-Rama and April Rama, the event's organizers for another successful one! And of course to Leanne Florendo and Aimil Sarmiento of A.L. Amizade Marketing, Inc. Here's looking forward to the next "Make Your Own Havaianas"! Obrigado!   (THE FREEMAN)
