CEBU, Philippines - The Western Union Company, a global leader in money transfer services, has now made it easier for customers to send and receive money in all computer-equipped Western Union Agent locations in the Philippines by introducing a new formless transaction process.
To conduct a formless transaction, first time Western Union senders or receivers need to register their information by completing a “To Send Money” form or “To Receive Money” form, respectively, and present a valid photo identification card (ID) to the Front Line Associate (FLA) for processing the transaction.
The customer’s personal information will then be recorded in Western Union’s central database which will enable him/her to conduct subsequent transactions by simply presenting their valid photo ID, their Western Union® Gold Card (if any) and some basic sending or receiving information (as appropriate). They will not be required to manually complete the “To Send Money” or “To Receive Money” forms again.
These easy steps of sending and receiving money provide Western Union loyal customers additional convenience and faster transaction time. This is in line with Western Union’s commitment and promise to its customers: “Kampante ka sa Western Union!”
How to send money
In order to send money through Western Union’s formless transaction process, customers need to:
1. Present a valid photo ID (the same ID used at the first transaction) and Western Union Gold Card (if any);
2. Provide the following information – name of the sender as in the valid photo ID, name of the receiver, where to send the money (city/province, country), amount of money to be sent, purpose of the transaction and relationship to the receiver;
The FLA will then process and verify the transaction details, collect the money and transfer fee from the sender, print out a receipt with the 10-digit Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for the sender to review and sign off, and brief the sender on what his/her receiver will need for withdrawing the money.
How to receive money
Similar to sending money, receiving money through Western Union’s formless transaction process is as easy as 1-2-3. Customers only need to:
1. Present a valid photo ID (the same ID used at the first transaction) and Western Union Gold Card (if any); and
2. Provide the following information – the 10-digit MTCN, name of the Sender, where the money originated (city/province, country), and expected amount of money to be received.
The FLA will then process and confirm the transaction details with the receiver, print out a receipt for the receiver to sign off, and pay out the cash to the receiver who should make sure the amount is correct before leaving the counter.
