A Boracay Wedding
CEBU, Philippines – Christine Misa and Gil Coscolluela’s love of the blue waters was uppermost in their minds when they selected Boracay, a favorite destination for special occasions, as the venue for their wedding recently.
Christine met Gil at a party in Manila where both were studying. After a couple of years of courtship Gil proposed and soon preparations for their big day were underway. The nuptial Mass held at the Holy Rosary Parish was celebrated by Reverend Father Magloire Placer.
Christine was radiant in her strapless, gathered chiffon gown created by Manila-based fashion designer Randy Ortiz. Gil was debonair in off-white perfectly tailored suit.
Inspired by the colors of the sea, the lady principal sponsors were dressed in aqua and chartreuse. They included the aunts of the bride Diana Ledesma and Jean Teves, aunt of the groom Marissa Diego and dear family friends Teresa Garamendi and Ruby Vera.
The male sponsors in off-white polo barong and cool khaki pants were led by former Philippine Ambassador Albert del Rosario, David Lim, Jaime Morelos, Tom Batac and Ludovico Eduave.
Trina Molina, cousin of the bride was Matron of Honor while Gary Coscolluela, brother of the groom, and best friend Anton Gonzalez were Best Men. Honor Attendant was Cholo Tagaysay. The bridesmaids in flowing aqua gowns were Mutya Laxa, Leanne Florendo, Jo Pacho, Goni Tagaysay and Sharon de Guzman. They were escorted by groomsmen James de Jesus, Javi Hernandez, Michael Coscolluela, Vince Lozano and Alan Rufino.
After the moving ceremony, the wedding party and their 220 guests made their way to the luxurious Discovery Shores resort for cocktails. Assorted sushis, chilled prawns, New Zealand mussels, baby lobsters and swordfish coconut shooters were passed around by attendants in colorful outfits.
The sumptuous dinner banquet that followed consisted of carving stations with Moroccan lamb ribs, US Roast beef, braised chicken with shitake, grilled seafood delights and a selection of salads. While dining guests were regaled by the Bernie Pasamba Ensemble followed by the GMT Band that had the invitees dancing till dawn.
The newlyweds left for a honeymoon around Europe visiting romantic Paris, historical Madrid, lively Barcelona, culturally rich Athens and magical Santorini.
