Balletcenter's Ballet Spectacular 2009

CEBU, Philippines - Exciting plans are under way for Balletcenter’s 3rd annual International Summer Series, which will culminate with performances of Ballet Spectacular 2009. The international summer series is a six-week summer course and run from April 13–May 22. Classes are offered for age 3 yrs. old to adults and generally meet three times a week. Courses offered are Pre-Ballet, Beginners to Advanced Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Pilates, Capoeira, Teen- Adult Jazz and Yoga-Fusion.

Directors Gregory Aaron and Nicolas Pacaña head a stellar ensemble of teachers; Johanna Mangubat – Pre-Ballet-Intermediate Ballet, Linda Rivera – Pre-Ballet, Rey Allen Espinosa-Pre Ballet, Mark Grantos – Pre-Ballet and Jazz, Cris Manlunas (Guest Teacher, Graduate International Ballet Academy, Christ Church New Zealand ) – Contemporary, Eryk Khalifa –Capoeira, Baby Cabaero – Elementary Ballet and Pilates.

 Ballet Spectacular will be a repertory evening with an exciting blend of choreographic styles.   Pre-ballet to beginner dancers will be highlighted in choreography by the staff of Balletcenter in a charming array of dances geared to each level. Intermediate-Advanced students will be featured in the Philippine premiers of Nicolas Pacaña’s; Fan Dance –Intermediate dancers (stylized ethnic dance, Music by Vangelis), Outcast-Advanced, (contemporary ballet on the edge with music by  Ennio Morricone from the soundtrack of the movie “The Untouchables”) and Symphony in C-Intermediate-Advanced (Neo-classical, fast paced and sure to get your adrenaline going, Music by Georges Bizet.)
