PARADISO
CEBU, Philippines - ‘Twas like a dream...a trance of an echoing, non-stop house music...cosmic crowd...and the epitome of an absolute satisfaction of revelry...it’s haunting....it’s remarkable...it’s Paradiso 2009!
For those who weren’t able to make it, it is my pleasure to walk you through the event:
Picture a scene of a teeming Portofino, surrounded by fine-looking people whose only goal was to witness the much talked about Paradiso party. Parokya ni Edgar and CDMC pumped up the volume for party as they started the appetite and hunger for more good music.
Then...the introduction....the deep slow gravelly voice of a man speaking way and beyond the borders of the venue. “Dance is your temple...music is your salvation...” The chills I felt hearing those voice...goose bumps all over my body...suddenly...a blast!...fireworks display courtesy of Pyroworks. Then, the legendary DJ Marlon Orellano spinned his music followed by Embassy’s pride DJ Martin Pulgar, concluded by DJ Rondey Rodriguez and the party never stopped ‘til the break of dawn.
All hail Cris Go everyone! The brilliant mind behind the ultimate beach party of the season. Backing up this noteworthy event are none other than Patrick Maluya and Anthony Chua who assisted in the organization and conceptualization of Paradiso 2009, for without this trio...Paradiso wouldn’t be as euphoric as it was. Hats off to you, guys!
“We wanted it to be a spectacle like no other here in Cebu, hence the stage preparations, the fireworks and the visual effects...all synchronized into one great show,” Cris Go said.
The organizers would like to thank Alcordo Advertising, St. James, Sound Balloon, San Miguel Beer, Pyroworks, Milkfish Studio, Metrogrfx, Magic 89.9, Monster Radio BT 105.9 and Y101 Always First.
From Cebu then to Bantayan!
Though the partyphiles of Cebu were satisfied with the Paradiso event, we couldn’t get enough of the music and dancing and so the party series continued.
We travelled all the way from Cebu to Bantayan and checked out the four-day party series at the Sugar Beach dubbed as Summer SunScream 2009. Our room (Duplex A yeah!!) was right across the stage and so from sunrise to sundown, from twilight to moonlight, breakfast up until dinner (not to mention the midnight meals)...R n B and house music paired with a locally mixed drink (tandy and limey) became our main source of life during our whole stay in Bantayan.
I saw a lot of familiar faces in the Island, especially during the Thursday –Vudu night where, again, Vudu resident DJs Maxie Perez and Marlon Orellano got the crowd’s adrenaline rushing the whole night as the went crazy with his music and got us all up and back on our feet. He definitely knows how to liven up a party.
The trip was definitely worth remembering. It was more than just drinks and party but also a celebration of reunited friendships, strong bonds and memories that will surely last a lifetime. Here’s to more years to come bessy’s!
Let’s mellow it down a bit...and relax...til next week.
