Marco Polo Plaza Cebu and the Macau Government Tourist Office-Philippines launched the Flavors of Macau recently at the Blu Bar and Grill of Marco Polo. We missed our friend GM Hans Hauri who was out of town at the time.
Special guests who came from Manila were: Narzalina Z. Lim – General Manager, Macau Government Tourist Office Marketing Representative-Philippines; Bob Zozobrado, President and GM of his own PR outfit, Ideaz, and the even-popular Manila society scribe Maurice “Pangga” Arcache. Also present during the launch was DOT Usec Phineas Alburo.
Actually, the multicultural and uniquely cosmopolitan cuisine of Macau was the attraction of the food fest held at Café Marco of the Marco Polo Plaza here in Cebu last March 1-15 and the main feature was the raffle with prizes of a 3-day/2 night Macau holiday packages which included a ticket to the Cirque du Soleil show at the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel.

And speaking of food…a Manila-based restaurant company has decided to invest in Cebu by opening its first Vis-Min branch in SM City Cebu.
Lamesa Grill is a food venture of Rikki Dee who, at the same time, owns 76 fastfood outlets and 29 restaurants in Manila alongside business partner Senator Francis Pangilinan under FRD Food and Spices, Inc.
Recently, this Manila-based company partnered with Cebuano businessmen Erwin Ortiz and Ato Alvarez which operates under LM Grill Cebu Corp. to open Lamesa Grill in Cebu.
The term of operation for Lamesa Grill is under a joint partnership venture with FRD Food & Spices, Inc. and LM Grill Cebu Corp., said Erwin and Ato when we were invited to savor the tasty grilled seafood at SM City Cebu. We had a taste of their Combo platter that has everything – halaan, sugpo, tahong, Blue Marlin belly, squid, chicken leg quarter, pork spareribs and pork lengua, and many other dishes that are your favorites. For lunch or dinner, don’t forget to drop by Lamesa Grill at SM City Cebu’s The Northwing.
