So short, so satisfying

CEBU, Philippines - And what would February be without the day of hearts? And much to everyone’s delight, Valentine’s this year fell on a Saturday! Thus, on the eve alone, events that celebrated “the love” hit the city! It was as if Cupid came out a day early to party. It didn’t matter if one had a partner or was proudly single, everyone was out there having a grand time.

On Friday the 13th, Vudu once again elevated the love-weekend with its traffic light party. So here’s the deal, green meant the person was available, yellow sent signs of

“Let’s talk about it over a drink,” while red meant “No can do.” But regardless of what color they were wearing, everyone who got themselves into the traffic, romanced with the music that only DJs Maxie Perez and Marlon Orellano could provide.

On V Day itself, Alejandro’s defied the colors for its Disco Saturday with a black theme. But there was certainly nothing anti-love about the event. It was Love actually that got the beautiful and the daring to flock to the watering hole amidst a rainy evening - love for good food, great music and pleasant company! Meanwhile, on that same day, Formo Lounge relived a high school event for those who missed out with its Prom Valentine.

Finally, after being accepted in Ateneo de Manila for pre-med studies, budding young lass, Monica Blanco Ceballos did a double celebration to welcome college life and her 17th. Close friends and family joined Monica’s Casino Royal theme at the Cebu Country Club for an elegant dinner and poker (?). All the best to you Monica, go girl!
