CEBU, Philippines – GM-designate Amando Huh said the resort, located in an 8-hectare property in barangay Maribago in Mactan, will be completed by April. The resort has 128 deluxe rooms, 372 suites, 9 spa rooms and 48 pool villas, with each room having beautiful ocean views. Pool Villas also have a private pool and a Jacuzzi.
The resort also boasts of a 180-meter wide beachfront, a 6,188 square meter pool and an impressive waterpark, which is a first in Cebu. Among the many features of the waterpark is the Wave Rider, which is an artificial tide pool that will give a feeling that you are in the ocean; the Amazon River; Captain Hook’s Pool; a toddler’s pool for the little ones; and water slides.
The Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa is owned and developed by the Philippine BXT Corporation, a PEZA-registered tourism operator/developer. The resort is a foreign-funded investment and was a response to the call of the Philippine government for more investments in the tourism sector.
The resort is managed by the Imperial Palace Hotel Group, an international hotel management group which also manages two other hotels in Seoul, South Korea and in Fukuoka, Japan.
Mr. Huh said the Imperial Palace Group is excited to work hand in hand with Cebuanos with the opening of the resort. He added that the presence of the Imperial Palace in Cebu is also their commitment to help promote the Philippines to other countries. (Quennie S. Bronce)
