Catholic Volunteers Movement celebrates 7th Anniversary

The Catholic Volunteers Charity Movement of the Guadalupe Parish celebrated its 7th anniversary at the Formation Center of Guadalupe Parish. The affair started with the coronation of the King and Queen of Charity 2009. Loving couple Vicente and Cheryle Quilaton were crowned King and Queen of Charity 2009 by Honorary Consul of Spain Jaime R. Picornell and Chinggay Utzurrum.

The CVCM was founded by Socorro Valencia, daughter of the late Spanish Consul of Cebu, Don Silviano Cermeño. This organization has various projects such as helping the victims of fires, landslides and other calamities.

The working committee officers are Cris Davide, president; Norma Tio, vice president; Cheryle Quilaton, secretary; Trinidad Medina, treasurer; Cookie Valencia, PRO; Nicole Manuel and Tanya Valencia, banner bearers; Pat Macaventa, custodian; Marisol Manuel, monitor and this writer as social coordinator. The members of the board of directors are Coring Valencia, Paulina Tiu, Lina Pelaez, Engr. Ester Acero, Rosalind Co and Msgr. Carlito Pono is the spiritual director. The CVCM members are Vicente Quilaton, Lito Flores, Rosemarie Ballesteros, Myrna Cuizon, May Silverio, Juliet Tennyson and Emma Estanilla.
