How about a biblical diet?

- Ruth Mercado -

CEBU, Philippines – The way you eat will have much to do with the way you age. Because people are generally afraid and are insecure about getting old or being told they are fat that books on diet are selling like bestsellers no matter how expensive. There is a horde of books on carbohydrate-free diet, after-six diet, one cup of rice diet but have any of these human-based suggestions ever really worked? How about a Biblical diet?

It is because people are always afraid to lose their youth and their shapely bodies that they turn to anything that would make them become beautiful and youthful in quick fix solutions. But if given a Biblical diet would they follow it to the letter just to stay young?

A Biblical diet consists of only nuts, legumes, fruits and vegetables and strictly no pork meat. If you had the freedom of choice, would you stick to these dietary restrictions just to stay young, shed off those bulges in your body and stay in shape?

The problem is not so much that God didn’t give us a diet plan, the issue is, are we ready to obey and comply with God’s diet plan. The choices are either you comply with the Biblical diet plan or grow old fast, really fast.

Oftentimes people would rather indulge themselves on their cravings and spend so much later with artificial solutions, rather than follow a Biblical diet and save costs on treatment. No matter how much you hide, it cannot be concealed that people tend to be insecure about unsightly bulges that can’t seem to disappear even with girdles, wearing of dark clothes, exercise or cosmetic surgeries. People tend to be deeply bothered and worried about fine lines and sagging cheeks even with anti-aging and anti-wrinkle creams, facial skin treatments and facial augmentations.

Yes aging is a treacherous phenomenon in a man’s life. It is all because of man’s own doing. Beauty pageant and bikini contestants and titlists, ramp models and commercial models, the school prom queen and king, athletes and fitness champions are always hardest hit with the treacheries of aging. This is because they least expect it will happen to them. People who don’t take care about their inner beauty will always will end up being betrayed by their outer beauty.

Let’s see where all the boasting of boxing champions or Miss Universe winners will be three decades later. No matter what they do with their faces and their bodies, their age and unsightly lines will show in their necks because of poor diet. Look at a person’s neck and you can tell if a person is just aging or aging fast.

Strictly no pork meat.

What many people don’t know is that what you feed your body speeds up the aging process. The Bible is the only book in the world that validates this phenomenon. No diet book or nutrition book wants to refer to the Biblical diet because authors are afraid it will offend people. But then the Biblical diet is the only safe, effective and proven weight-reduction and nutrition diet through the ages that has actually delayed aging and kept our ancestors youthful to their deaths.

Before the flood of Noah, the people of the Earth like the lineage of Adam and Eve lived to a thousand years. In Genesis chapter 5 verse 5, it is written that “All the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years and he died.” The Bible says Adam “lived” not Adam grew old and died. Before the flood, people in the Garden of Eden maintained their youth. They didn’t grow old. How? Because of a Biblical diet.

The only and ultimate authority on eating right is God and God alone because in the first place, He alone made us. God’s Biblical diet is simple. In Genesis chapter 1 verse 29 it reads, “Behold I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food.” God established His diet plan at the foundation of the world and gave it to Adam in Eden. This is because when God created our dietary system the food that we eat will not only be for nutritional and medicinal value but also for spiritual edification. Since creation, God’s diet plan consists of nuts, grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables. Strictly no pork meat.

It was only after the flood, that God recommended clean meat such as beef and fowl. But even beef and fowl are not recommendable these days because of contaminated feeds and the way these animals are mass produced. For instance contaminated feeds has led to foot-and-mouth disease in cows and cattle and bird flu on chicken where these are bred in large populations

Since the beginning, God detested pork meat and that anybody who would eat pork “would surely die.” Controlling our diet is a great challenge of our time because the food industry thrives on producing addictive food, food that have nothing to do with nutrition and food in large quantities that the essence of God’s creation is corrupted. Food companies feed on the natural weakness of man for indulgence and people end up eating the food that God hates like pork meat and other processed pork meat like ham, sausages, hotdog, pork chops, etc.

It is the height of hypocrisy that you pray thanking God for your meals when you are serving lechon or any pork meat. What blessing is there to pray for food that God hates you to eat?

Get real.

Your sins will find you. The biggest drawback of eating food outside of God’s dietary plan is aging, obesity, ugly bulges, unsightly wrinkles, sagging necks. Many fitness instructors and experts suggest diet and nutrition plan to lose weight. There is however a caveat, only a Biblical-diet will work.

God did not create man to become machines. God created man to have a discernment of what food to eat. Hence the power to stay young has least to do with anti-aging creams, slimming capsules or even cosmetic surgery. The best way to stay young is to keep to a Biblical diet.
