Cebu: People, Places and Faces
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebuanos’ passion for excellence has continued to be a catalyst in transforming Cebu not only as the premiere tourist destination of the country but also as a haven for great opportunities.
The opening of I1, I2 and I3 buildings last November 16, 2008 into a new hub for arts and culture in Asiatown IT Park is one great privilege of merging arts and technology. It also hopes to encourage young professionals to take a deeper understanding towards arts and hopefully develop them into a new brand of art collectors in the future. It is also envisioned to make IT Park as a tourist destination, providing the prospected guest a touch of Cebu’s art and culture. Above all, it hopes to make art as an important factor in nation building.
Committed to providing cultural and artistic atmosphere in the area, an exhibit entitled, “Cebu: People, Places and Faces,” is set to open today, February 20 at 6PM at the lobby of I1 building. The exhibit aims to help promote Cebu as a premier tourist destination in the country through paintings, to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Cebuano people; to generate art consciousness in IT Park, and to continually showcase the artistry of the Cebuano people. Paintings to be exhibited are reflective of Cebu’s active people, exceptional landscapes and landmarks and new faces that truly reflect the moving spirit of the Cebuano.
