The Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu City’s finest hotel, celebrates and welcomes the Year of the Ox — which symbolizes strength gathered through unity, harmony, obedience, courage and hard work — in Chinese tradition with dragon dances, firecrackers and a wide array of Hong Kong-style cuisine.
On Tuesday, January 20, be there as Marco Polo Plaza kicks off its Chinese New Year festivities with the traditional Lang Sai (Lion dance), Lang Ling (Dragon dance) and Yee Sang, the ceremonial tossing of Chinese Salad (a fish salad eaten only during Chinese New Year) at the hotel Lobby.
Marco Polo Plaza also brings you another Culinary Journey entitled “Dim Sum and Then Some”. From January 20 to February 2, enjoy lunch and dinner buffet at the award-winning restaurant Café Marco with a delectable variety of steamed and fried dumplings, spring rolls, fried rice, noodles and other Hong-Kong style cuisine for your “heart’s delight” (dim sum).
Make it a special night on Sunday, January 25, as we welcome the New Moon at Marco Polo’s BLU Bar & Grill. As the rise of the new moon signals the start of the Year of the Ox, celebrate with sparkling wine, cocktails or a special dinner at 1,000 feet high. During twilight hours, from 4:30 – 7:00 pm, enjoy every drink at BLU as you get two glasses for the price of one. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm.
On January 26, Monday, witness the longest and legendary Chinese dragon in the Philippines dance its way around the hotel for good fortune. Wushu practitioners will also perform at the Lobby at 7 P.M.
