Let’s see how far will my fashion knowledge take me: Lacoste it’s the crocodile, Ralph Lauren’s Polo is the polo player, Abercrombie and Fitch is the moose, Hollister is the flying seagull, American Eagle Outfitters is obviously the American eagle and Giordano is the frog. I know I left out several but let me ask this, who is wearing the Carabao?
I am pretty sure that your closet is full of the above labels for your daily fashion. Mine is. And why shouldn’t it be? We all love comfort and style. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those “what’s-foreign-is-better” kind of person. In fact, I know a good Filipino product when I see one so you better make room in your closet for the newest name in casual wear that will definitely be a mainstay in your wardrobe.
From conception, Iris Marie Ponce the creative genius behind I.M.P., only had our very own beast of burden as logo for her line of apparel. And for the brand’s initial outing of shirts for him and her, the Carabao is already catching a whole lot of attention. Blame it on style and function backed by proven Cebuano quality. In fact, taking inspiration from local brand Penshoppe, which actually started in Cebu, Iris hopes to make the brand a national name, perhaps even global.
So, do the Carabao proud. Wear it!
(I.M.P. is available in Unit C14 at 868 Whole Center in Mango Ave. and Budoy’s Butik in Kukuk’s Nest, Gorordo Ave.)
