Sabores de España

CEBU CAROUSEL - Joe C. Recio -

The Marco Polo Plaza Hotel invited me to a cocktail party launching the Sabores de España last August 29. Spanish cuisine brings unique regional dishes special ingredients and long-standing influence from Moorish and Arab settlers. The Philippines being a former colony of Spain have a fondness for Spanish food. Featured in the Sabores de España are Gema Luisa Pido’s Lengua Estofada, Paella Valenciana, Pescado in salsa verde, Manestra (vegetables) Mechado del Campo, Calamares Rellenos, Pollo a la Chillndron, Sans Rival, Leche Flan, Cocidos and many others. Honorary Consul of Spain in Cebu Don Jaime Picornell and Doña Cecilia Picornell and Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hauri were the guests of honor.
