The conventional concept of a man is that he couldn’t care less about exerting efforts to look good. As long as he has showered, has brushed his teeth and has put on deodorant, the conventional man thinks he is ready to face the world. The idea is that a gorgeous man is ruggedly handsome, period.

But nowadays, quite a number of males have become conscious of how they look. The malls, the night spots teem with guys whom we once mistook for gays because of their unrestrained expression of vanity.

These men are called metrosexuals. And although they are so conscious about how they look, they should not be mistaken as gays. They are just heterosexual males who simply have a strong aesthetic sense and inordinate interest in appearance and style.

Women cannot help but feel intimidated and threatened by these metrosexuals because they now have competition when it comes to looking good. Let’s face it, women still want men who are conventional, who are ruggedly handsome.
