One weekend ago, breezing into town was the tall, svelte and oh-so-slim young lady we know as the daughter of a dear friend Sony Alonso.
Shemaine Alonso Bushnell-Kyriakides was here in dear old Cebu visiting her beloved mom Sony who celebrated her birthday. She stayed for a week and then left for Cyprus, now her home after she married tall and good-looking Alexis Kyriakides, an astute businessman in Nicosia, Cyprus. They have been married for 12 years now but have remained childless.
A lovely lady standing 5’11”, Ginger, as she is fondly called by relatives and friends, grew up in California and partly in Cebu. As a little girl and even when she was in her teens, Ginger used to stay at her mom’s office at the Director’s Guild in Hollywood, CA. She finished high school at Beverly Hills High School and graduated at the UCLA with a degree in Political Science and Management. For a while, she worked as production assistant in FoxNews Channel. She was then hired to become the Philippine Honorary Consul of Cyprus. Now, she is well-loved by the hundreds of Pinoys she is representing in Cyprus. Cheers to our very own Cebuana Consul of Cyprus!

The White Collar Revival
After more than 30 years, the once very popular White Collar, Inc. is slowly seeing a revival. This organization is composed of young women working as executive secretaries in various establishments all over the city. The members of this club are known not only for their ability in keeping offices running smoothly but also in promoting art and culture in this community.
One of the many projects of White Collar at that time was the Open Forum it holds regularly to disseminate information among students and parents. The organization also helps a number of charitable institutions and gives aid to victims of fires and typhoons.
If you are a former White Collar member, please join the group and be counted once again. Please call Betty Young at cell numbers 09173220281 and 09177561671.
