This summer, L’Oreal Professionel reveals its trends in hair style and coloration in the context of extravagance, drawing inspiration from street festivals, shows, acrobats, circus – thus, highlighting a more playful look.
For this season, the spotlight is on the Majirel and Majibrown color families. Both lead in promoting elegance, femininity, grace, magic and balance. These trends are in response to what Paris, the fashion mecca, dictates on the latest hair fashion accessory. Extravagance, that is!
L’Oreal Professionel recently introduced the “in” hairstyles and haircolors for summer held at the Elizabeth Mall where Cebu’s hairstylists had a full orientation on how to extravagantly create cutting edge styles, with L’Oreal’s artistic ambassador Philippe Tordjman demonstrating the cutting techniques.
According to Tordjman, Filipino stylists are extremely talented. However, cosmetology in the Philippines needs much improvement to move the market and increase profitability of the salon industry. In this era where more clients are visiting the salons, L’Oreal Professionel is bringing in the passion for competitive hairdressing, introducing new concepts and fresh ideas to fully master the art of hairstyling and professionalism. Tordjman is based in Makati and is currently managing his own salon, Philippe’s Salon in Pasong Tamo extension, while he also operates three salons in San Francisco.
The “bangs,” or as what Tordjman refers to as “fringe,” are still in fashion for a more classy look, while short hair styles, curls or the “wonder wave” are the highlights of the season.
At the later part of the event, Cebuano hairdressers and some from the nearby cities in the Visayas, paraded together with their models their version of extravagance.
