Eye on Madonna

If there’s any woman in pop culture known for her incessant determination and tongue-in-cheek attitude that earned numerous her infamous titles such as queen of quick change, mother of re-invention, material girl, maternal mom, pop icon, the shameless one, coolest queen of white heat, one woman many faces, videatrix, dominatrix, trend setter, sponge absorbent, brazen, narcissistic, penitent, clown, only one name survives - Madonna.

Turning fifty this year, Madonna Veronica Louise Ciccone - Ricci - is a multi-Grammy award -winning singer, songwriter, producer, cultural icon, world renowned stage performer, video visionary, children’s book author, director and documentary film maker who has sold two hundred million albums in the course of her unprecedented almost three-decade career. She was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, joining the likes of pop icon Elvis Presley.

After her hit album (Confessions on the Dancefloor) which was a top grosser in at least 30 countries that led to a resoundingly sucessful concert in 2006, comes an eleventh studio album just released.

Hard Candy, as the album title suggests, is a juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, something of like I’m-gonna-kick-your-ass-but-it’s-going-to-make- you-feel-good.Delightfully ear-catching added with an urban hip hop beat in collaboration with musical partners Timbaland, Pharrel Williams of The Neptunes, Nate “Danja” Hills and producer Justin Timberlake (Madonna, now raking JT’s young fans into her den). Its carrier single “Four Minutes” hits the charts shorter than, well, four minutes!

Harsh comments like “JT’s making music with his mommy” did not get far as the new video revealed the two (Madge and Justin), each seemingly just aged a year apart. The “4” video also features rap artist Timbaland. 

Hard Candy, the delicious new Madonna album, was internationally released on April 29.
