Muppet Mobile Lab Brings Quirky All-New Interactive Fun to Hong Kong Disneyland
The Muppet Mobile Lab, featuring Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, with his assistant Beaker, “rolled” into Hong Kong Disneyland for a grand debut, bringing an all-new interactive experience to guests. The whimsical duo made a special appearance on Valentine’s Day to announce their new discovery on the “Science of Romance,” which successfully helped a local guest to pop the question to his girlfriend in the park.
Just before
Often in the way of Bunsen’s unsuccessful experiments, Beaker was very thankful that all went well this time as Dr. Honeydew put together the must-have “chemicals” for love. He orchestrated a romantic tune and produced a rose bouquet, which provided the perfect moment for Mr. Yuen to declare his love. Miss Cheung was astonished as her boyfriend further got on his knees and proposed to her with a ring – all to the cheers of supportive onlookers!
Representing the latest in Audio-Animatronics® technology, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker will roam the Park enjoying personal and spontaneous interactions with guests of all ages. These inventive scientists encourage guests to take part in their scientific experiments, invite guests to ask questions and even talk back to guests (or “squeak” back in the case of Beaker). Guests may experience some of the onboard special effects, such as water sprayers, smoke and confetti cannons, plus a few unexpected surprises. Their inventions usually go awry and get everyone cracking up on the hilarious mishaps.
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker are among the key characters that starred in The Muppet Show, together with the much-loved Kermit the Frog and everyone’s favorite Miss Piggy. Featuring a cast of puppets (the Muppets) and a human guest, the show is a popular television program loved by audience around the world. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is the resident scientist on The Muppet Show, and host of The Muppet Labs sketches. Bunsen Honeydew’s name comes from the scientific instrument called the Bunsen burner, and the shape of his head, which looks like a honeydew melon.
The Muppet Mobile Lab is the first among the five new attractions in 2008 at Hong Kong Disneyland.
