The University of Cebu College of Education Biokinetics Dance Club selected students of SPT 1 (Multicultural classrooms) under Dean Ulysses Aparece presented Dance Beat, a festival of dances with a multicultural repertoire on the 8th of this month at the UC Activity Center.
This showcased Asian rhythms, local mix and dances from beyond our shores, the likes of the flower crown dance of Korea, Hwa Gwan Mu, celebration of the Burmese new year, Thingyan, Talaandig flirtation dance from Bukidnon, Pig-agawan, Square dance of the USA, La Cucuracha of the mestizo culture of Mexico, and Kuda Kepang, the “horsemen of Islam.”
The show was directed by multicultural dance guru and president of Cebu Colleges and Universities Choreographers Association Ceasar Amir Nimor with the support of dance master Jesel Alfeche and Biokinetics Society advisers Isagani Butcon and Melody Sugano.
