Style is something you either have coursing through your complex veins or not. As mentioned in my previous article, individuals with true style live and breathe it. And the designer in focus, Jun Escario, has undoubtedly style!
For his recent Metrowear installation at the Rockwell Tent, Jun Escario took us back in time to the superlatives, the excessive 80s. Inspired by George Michael’s video one weekend, he whipped up an entire collection of super expensive silk chiffons with super vibrant hues in super-flowy silhouettes perfect for the super-glamazon contemporary woman who dresses for herself. To recall, the Freedom video featured the supermodel triumvirate of Linda, Christy and Naomi along with other glamazons like Tatjana Patitz, Karen Mulder, Yasmeen Gauri and the likes. “Oh, it was awesome!”, quipped fashion’s reigning enfant terrible, “mile long legs exposed when they sashayed on the runway!” With Gianni Versace long gone, Escario played a subtle homage to the exuberant Italian designer with his recent collection adorned with metallic (and humongous!) safety pins reminiscent of what Elizabeth Hurley, then an ingenue, wore during a rare appearance for a movie premier. That “dress” catapulted her to fame and the rest is history. Escario added his distinctive touch and voila! A superfabulous array of floaty dresses with an oomph!
But what makes it so modernistic is the timing. Most recently, vibrant to the point of shocking colors is ubiquitous, as decreed blatantly by style setters of the fashion capitals. And the Jun Escario name is synonymous with beautiful clothes as his clients lining up his G5 flagship store can attest. And his most recent collection is substantial proof that the Jun Escario label emanates style!
Bravissimo!
