OSI-Capitol Agrees On Treatment Center

Breezing into town a week ago was Dr. William “ Bill” Magee, Operation Smile International co-Founder and CEO who met with Governor Gwen F. Garcia and discussed briefly the organization’s plan to build and operate a first class facility on Capitol lot scheduled to be within this year 2008.

During the presscon held at the home of OPSmile host for the last 11 years Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung, Dr. Magee told the media that the plan to construct a facility center in Cebu is now in the formative stages. He also mentioned that Gov. Garcia has agreed in principle to shoulder the cost of constructing the center while Operation Smile will manage and sustain the facility.

Speaking of sustaining the center...Mrs. Yeung averred that her group or foundation will have more fundraising to support the center, even as the OSI also would help in supporting the facility.

Dr. Magee assured us this center will be the best in the country since this is not only to help people with deformed lips and palates but eventually, will perform cranio-facial operations. Who knows?

With the concerted efforts of OSI’s Dr. Bill Magee, Gov. Gwen Garcia and the Provincial government, and Mrs. Mariquita S. Yeung, and with the support of the private sector, especially with the business group here and abroad, except this project to be running smooth and successful!
