Friendship made in Hongkong

- Anna Ng -

This was the worst trip of my life! Imagine less than four hours sleep everyday, meals are not on time, always rushing to keep right on schedule. No time to relax! And the walking? We walked a lot! It was like we were in a race all the time. But it’s funny how I’m missing that trip so much and I find myself constantly wishing we were all together again.

Then I realized  that you guys are my cake! You see, from my perspective, a great friendship is kinda like a really REALLY good piece of cake.  When you’re in the midst of savoring its sugary goodness, all your senses are focused on that spongy slice and when you’re not, you often think about going to that particular pastry shop to get a bite again.

Of course, to have that sought-after cake, you’ll need to bake. You’ll need all the necessary utensils, the right ingredients, perfect temperature, timing, and taste. Like our Hong Kong trip.  For utensils, we had the MAP, the cameras and the tripod.  For ingredients that made all of it PERFECT we had Jan and Michelle’s parental guidance, Kenneth’s craziness, Timothy’s proportional craziness in response to Kenneth’s, Kane’s clumsiness, Nina’s map reading skills and internet power, Jacqy and Mimin’s fearlessness ready to sky jump in The Macau Tower BUT sad to say the jump was not available till 6:30p.m. (sorry guys), Vangie’s and Valerie’s shopping addiction, Kim’s (small is powerful) power because of the bargaining skills she showed off in Shenzhen, James’ vigilant attention in observing middle aged Chinese men eating cheeseburgers, Bernice’s fear of amusement park rides and, of course, my eye for beautiful shots… Oppss don’t react guys! Beautiful shots meaning you guys because your faces crowded the memory card of my camera, remember? For temperature, we had around 13 degrees Celsius, timing was November 27 to December 3. Picture this out— three places (Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Macau) in five days with 14 of us; 14 young minds with different personalities all wanting to have fun and enjoy; the timing and the combination was just right to bake a Perfect Friendship Made in Hong Kong.

So until the next time we bake, Bon Appetit Hong Kong peeps!
