Miss Cebu 2008: Contemporary Beauty

With modernity comes complexity. But Miss Cebu is above all that. It’s back to glamour where styling is concerned for this year’s pageant, what with the blanc et noir opening number reminiscent of screen sirens; a fun wear portion conceived from the nostalgia of the pin up girls of the Forties; and an evening gown competition inspired by movie icons of a bygone era. But the 12 handpicked candidates are modern in the most positive way.

For the Miss Cebu contender is unique and special. She is goal-oriented, direct and accomplished in many areas. She is confident, commanding in presence and most definitely a potential leader by virtue of experience the competition. The Miss Cebu contestant is a model for other women because she cares about a woman’s role in society. She is a contemporary woman attuned to the challenging issues facing the world. She is talented, intelligent, and blessed with energy, charisma, health and is also physically attractive, both in face and figure.

The Miss Cebu contender displays all these characteristics in her everyday life both as an individual, with hopes of advancing in her career, her personal and humanitarian goals, and as a woman seeking to improve the lives of others in the community, beginning with her own then to the bigger world, in general.

The Miss Cebu coronation night is tonight at 7:30 in the grand Pacific Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. It is important to note that the the organizers have decided to award two more prizes, adding to the long list of minor and major awards:Most number of internet votes and Most number of SMS votes.
