Gimik sa Cebu celebrates its 6th anniversary with a blast!

From television screens to live stage performance, variety shows have invaded the local scenario. Dancing beauty queens and singing divas; extreme hiphop group and pop jazz enthusiasts; feast on these gifted individuals as they amuse and entertain your body and soul.

Whether you would be comfortably sitting in a corner, standing and cheering with your friends your favorite performances or pushing your way to the front to get a close up shot of your most-loved group, the loud and vibrating echoes of music and the flash of beam and stage lights are just stimulating.

And what more could you ask for if such activity is celebrated within the yuletide season?

Last Dec. 21, a dose of nonstop tunes pulsated my ears as Gimik sa Cebu- Talents Group celebrated its 6th year anniversary at Fuente Osmeña Circle. I had the chance to witness a live performance from the talented students of Brgy. Camputhaw, the singing prowess of ABS-CBN’s  Ms. Davelyn Cuenco, the upbeat moves and grooves of special guest Snap Snipers and the rising and intensifying power of the boys and gals of the Cebu Dancesport Team.

An annual activity as affirmed by its organizer Mr. Francis Rabone Cruz, the team is happy to be back to showcase their talents once more. It has always been the aim of the group to delight the audience with their creativity while enhancing their potentials at the same time. The show also incorporated a so-called blast from the past; dance hits that included songs from the 70’s, 80’s and the 90’s.

In spite of the little rain that went on for some minutes, it didn’t hinder the crowd from enjoying the event and from watching it till the last entertainer. The show continued on with much surprises, gimmicks, hilarity and applause.

Truly it was a night of fun and enjoyment!
