Bridal Send-Off

As tradition dictates, weddings are usually preceeded by several  bridal showers, with some late night parties exclusively for the gentlemen. Then a few evenings before the big day, the  despedida de soltera, hosted by the parents of the bride.

Brothers Ramon  and Lisa Jarque and Cisco and Marilen Jarque did just that within a couple of weeks apart for their respective daughters who grew up together, Cristina and Chaveli.

Cristina’s get-together was held at the elegant El Comedor of the Casino Español de Cebu, surrounded by close relatives and a few dear friends. South Africa-based  Alan and Sharon Sasnovski, together with their children Mark Bruce, who presently resides in America, and Mandy, from the United Kingdom, flew in  to be with their son Mike.

Cisco and Marilen hosted a dinner down at the clubhouse of posh Maria Luisa Estate. The groom, Bryan Head, who calls Manila home now, had the support of his immediate family, all residents of the United States, his brother Charles Balch and his wife Shelly, and sister Snooky who came with husband Dennis Ambrosio.

Two memorable affairs  exuded  distinct characteristics of their own.

Cristina’s was intimate and elegant while Chaveli, who opted to have all her fun friends around, danced all night with the Rhythm and Music band.
