Nokia: making connections

-

Finding better ways for people to connect is the basic driving force behind Nokia’s existence in a largely mobile technology. Cognizant that music is the human being’s soothing balm because of its ability to cross cultures and go beyond borders, Nokia introduces the N-5310 XpressMusic, which caters to those with a passion for music.

“Technology has always been a driving force in the evolution of music,” says Juno Oebanda, a veteran in the local club circuit. With other respected pioneers, he co-founded LOCAL//:e! to support and promote homegrown talent in electronic music to both local and international audiences. Part of this includes the sharing of technical knowledge and equipment. Oebanda explains, “Your gear is important, both in making and listening to music.”

According to Oebanda, the N-5310 XpressMusic is “very easy to use” and “fits into how I work and make music.” Asked about the experience of his peers with the phone, he says that they “actually use it as a playback device to our DJ set-up, playing tracks side-by-side with our DJ rig-CD players, turntables, laptops and controllers.”

Nokia recently unveiled the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic  at the Club Vudu located at Crossroads Banilad, Cebu City. Nokia was represented by Nikka Abes, Corporate Communications Manager;  Mitch So,  Marketing Manager;  Corinne Risos, Product Manager; and Gigee Gabrentina,  Marketing Coordinator.

Simultaneously launched was the second CD compilation of LOCAL//:e!, which features collaborations between DJ’s, established and up-and-coming rock artists such as Adrian Cuenca, Brian Cua and Rubber Inc., as well as musicians like classically trained violinists Jay Cayuca and legendary blues guitarist Jun Lopito. It also includes a contribution by indie rocker Diego Mapa a.k.a Eggboy. Like Nokia, Local//:e! is all about making these connections.
