CEBU CAROUSEL - Joe Recio -

The Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. District 386 “On the Move” held an induction, leadership, training seminar and their national board meeting in Cebu with no less than national president Zenaida Farcon escorted by her husband Atty. Virgilio Farcon, her national board and special advisers, in attendance.

The national board meeting was hosted by vice president Vicky Magadia at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. The District 386 induction was held at the Casino Español de Cebu. A new image and distinction of District 386 is led by District chairman Zosima Labrador who served as such in Inner Wheel year 1994-1995, then last year and continued on to this year 2007-2008.

The District is composed of the Inner Wheel Club of Cebu led by president Alice Belen and is considered as the mother club in the region and will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2009. The IWC Cebu Mabolo is headed by president Delia Tupaz and is the club of DC Susy Labrador. The IWC Metro Mandaue is led by president Gloria Marcelo, IWC Upper Tagbilaran in Bohol by president Azun Mira; while IWC Davao East by president Aludia “Lodi” Sajor.

The District 386 celebrated its 30th year and this time, a cluster of fresh water pears beautifully crafted into an elegant necklace donated by past national president Ely de Veyra was won by IWC Cebu Mabolo president Delia Tupaz.

The projects handed by Inner Wheel extended assistance to families specifically women and children in the poor communities. The club also supports projects of Rotarians. The grand raffle prize donated by Atty. Virgilio Farcon (two tickets Cebu-Palau-Cebu via Asian Spirit) was won by IWC Cebu past president Lita Aldana.
