Cruise na! Pilgrimage pa!

That is what I have been excitedly telling my friends these days.

About two weeks ago, I got an offer to be the general sales agent of a cruiseship based in Athens, Greece.  It is a pilgrimage cruiseship and it is called Steps of Paul Coastal Cruise.  It traces the footsteps of Apostle Paul in Greece, Turkey, Italy and the Holy Land.  Since Delmar Travel is specializing in pilgrimage tours and cruises, I almost jumped from my seat when this opportunity dropped in my lap.  Can I do it? Was my first question to myself.  Of course you can... I will help you! An inner voice gave me the fastest reply. 

After a series of emails, I received some brochures for 2007 and 2008 sailings with enough information to start marketing the cruise. For the benefit of my readers, the ship is small and nothing as grandiose as the Royal Caribbean,  the Princess Cruiselines and other celebrated cruiseships that we have taken at one time or another.  It is a cruiseship that allows children to go FREE (sharing a cabin with two adults, airfare, taxes not included) and pay only 50 percent on shore excursions!  This cruiseship loves children!  

As the GSA, I was invited to join their “Book of Revelation Alive Cruise” on November 2 to 9, 2007.  Guess what?  I am not traveling alone!  Those who have seen the brochures and dream of joining  a pilgrimage and a cruise at the same time, have decided to join me.  I have a feeling that my reserved cabins will not go very far, based on the response from my friends and patrons of Delmar Travel.  The group will depart on November 1 from Cebu to Athens on Qatar Airways (our official carrier) and will return from Athens to Cebu on November 10.  The whole package will cost only $2,190.00 plus airline taxes, inclusive of roundtrip economy airline ticket, two nights accommodation in Athens in first class hotels, roundtrip transfers from airport/hotel/airport and hotel/port/hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner during the cruise, shore excursions, tour of Athens and Corinth and port taxes.  Can anyone beat that?  

There’s more!  There is a Holy Land Cruise on March 15, 2008, following the route of Apostle Paul to Jerusalem.  Imagine spending Good Friday in the Holy Land.
