Marco Polo celebrates prosperous 1st  year

Nestled in 7. 5 hectares of lush greenery is Cebu’s classy urban resort that was reborn with a new name, one synonymous to impeccable service and elegance.

The towering landmark at the picturesque Nivel Hills that seats 600 feet above sea level is Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, certainly the newest hub for businessmen and discerning travelers.

The first year was a remarkably prosperous period and there were reasons enough for thanksgiving and celebration.

Marco Polo chairman Alfred Ty together with its dynamic president Rey Villar and hardworking, always at your service general manager Hans Hauri hosted a truly fabulous party to earmark the hotel’s first anniversary.

Much of  its success is largely due to the support of loyal corporate and travel partners whom the property  honored with cocktails, a fabulous buffet  and a fantastic entertainment  by Cebu’s very own the sultry Verni Varga.

The very successful event took a lot of preparation and only the best food and wine and  very impressive guest list  would do for the hands-on organizers led by director for marketing Lynn Romero, director of Sales, Vicky Magsino and PR manager Carlo Borromeo.

Since its reopening, the Marco Polo Plaza has been the venue of choice for business organizations, dignitaries, prominent personalities and all-important milestone  events such as weddings, debuts, proms and launchings.

Plaques of appreciations were given to top corporate accounts that included Lexmark represented by president and CEO Stan Combs, Dash Engineering by vice president Haroshije Koriyama, Glaxo Smith Kline and eTelecare. Top Travel Trade awards went to TMJ Travel and Tours, Olive Lee of Hana Tours and Sato Sy of Hafti Travel and Tours. Banquet Awardee of the Year was Metrobank Cebu and a special citation as first Taipan member of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu was given to Joel Binamira.

After much feasting and dancing, congratulatory toast was led by Alfred Ty followed by the cutting of the cake designed like a replica of the hotel.

This grand event was another perfect celebration which etched a lovely memory guests are sure to treasure for a long time to come.
