Thirty (30) outstanding graduates  from the different schools and universities in Cebu are sure to pursue higher education as they were the chosen recipients of the Doña Modesta Gaisano Foundation Scholarship worth P3 million.

One of the biggest and longest running in the country, the Gaisano  Scholarship  is an annual project of the Doña Modesta Gaisano Foundation which was founded by Don Stephen Gaisano, now 93 years old, and his late brother, Don Henry S. Gaisano, as loving tribute to their mother, Doña Modesta.

The foundation is managed by Doña Modesta’s grandchildren: Joseph Gaisano, chairman; Stephen Gaisano Jr., president; Alex Gaisano, chief executive officer; Francisco Gaisano, Benito Gaisano, Edmund Gaisano, Jack Gaisano, Edward Gaisano, John Gaisano Jr., Hans Gaisano, and Sally Gaisano. They get assistance in running the foundation from co-chairmen: His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, renowed educator Dr. Alejandro R. Roces, economist Peter Cang Hocho and The Freeman publisher Juanito V. Jabat.
