Third International Travel Fair: A Success!

Encouraged and stirred by the rousing success of past travel fairs, Cebu City once again proudly hosted the Third International Travel, Tours, Leisure and Lifestyle Expo at the SM City Trade Hall which was organized by the Cebu Association of Tour Operators (CATO), Cebu Travel and Tours Association (CTTA) and Global-Link Marketing and Management Services, Inc.

Guests of Honor included Cebu Provincial governor Gwen Garcia and Cebu Vice Mayor Michael Rama who both delivered brief inspirational messages.

Joseph Ace Durano, the industrious and indefatigable Secretary of the Department of Tourism in his keynote speech invited guests to explore the many beautiful destinations our 7, 107 islands have to offer, savor our local and fusion cuisine, shop in bargain malls and town centers and experience first hand the warmth and varied charms of our people.

Tourism Region VII Director Dawnie Roa, always ever supportive of tourism and travel events, was there as well to support and forge meaningful partnerships with local and international travel and tourism players.

This year''s very successful travel fair had close to a hundred exhibitors from the different sectors of the travel industry, composed of airlines and shipping lines, hotels and resorts, tour operators and travel agencies, restaurants and other stakeholders in the world of travel and tourism. Foreign destinations such as, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sabah and Singapore had their own booths that showcased the attractive destinations and features of their island.

Dedicated and driven event chair Marget Villarica, of Destination Specialists, spearheaded the event with the able assistance of dynamic ladies, Cecil Sa-a, president of CTTA, Alice Queblatin, president of CATO and the gentleman, Patrick Lawrence Tan, Managing Director of Global Link Marketing and Management Services Inc.
