Summer’s best look

ROVING IMP - ROVING IMP By Kristalle Marie Garcia-Kekert -
Red is the new black. What better time than to sit down and consider the joys of the new summer collection? Versatility and choice are the keys, from sporty boy-conscious silhouettes highlighted in neon to floaty florals. Best of all are the adventures in drapery and volume undertaken by designers, encouraging new concepts of proportion and beauty. Here are the summer season’s best trends – so far:

Black and White: This classic combo has twists in bold graphic prints and shapes. It is very easy to throw together, looks good on most personalities and is perfect with a splash of RED!

Futuristic: Metallic day wear is a big story this season. The trend is paired with gold, silver and a bit of white, with shapes and textures. This is a fresh and optimistic look using simple dress shapes to recall the 1960s fascination.

Shift Dress: The shift dress, with its easy style and design potential, makes this the trans-seasonal test of time. This dress has many adventurous details and cool shapes.

Wide Leg Denim: A welcome alternative to the "mini". This is a great pair with compact tops, crisp white shirts or sporty tanks. A waist coat would be a good addition, as well. Wedges on the side would be the best illusion of length.

Remember that you can only look good in something if you feel confident in it. The fabric dictates the look, so if it was a bargain, it may tend to have a different outcome. However, to get away with this look, the right footwear could be the key. Flats can look fabulous, but heels add valuable inches and shape the leg. Finally, wear a great set of accessories because there’s a greater chance of making them an appearance.
