HULAGWAY: MULTIPLE EXPOSURE
February 17, 2007 | 12:00am
The debut solo art exhibit by visual artist and designer Ma. Eloise T. Daniot entitled "HULAGWAY: MULTIPLE EXPOSURE" will be featured at the Bluewater Gallery in Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort.
The exhibit is an autobiographical textile narrative on the triumph of a woman over adversities and a woman's freedom to choose her roles in society. The artist has pushed the envelope in creating her art by using diverse disciplines, experimenting with numerous techniques and materials used in painting and fashion design. The fusion of all these techniques resulted in intricate contemporary quilts.
Through these quilts, the artist incorporates her own personal experiences and message that "women can go beyond their stereotypical roles." It shows that parenting and complex multiple roles should not be seen as hurdles to pursue one's dream and exercise one's God-given talents. Her art underscores the existence of freedom of choice in the pursuit of happiness. The young artist herself is a single parent and always wanted to be a visual artist. Through determination and hard work, she has become a multi-awarded fashion accessories designer and is soon to complete another milestone - her formal collegiate studies in visual arts from the University of the Philippines.
The exhibit will open on February 21and runs through February 28. The Bluewater Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. Non-resort guests are requested to call Ms. Juliet Amazona at 492-1808 or 232-5411 and arrange an exhibit viewing appointment.
