Sunday fun with Dolpo
December 23, 2006 | 12:00am
It was an afternoon of fun and games; of family bonding amidst sun and sea. Maribago Bluewater became a venue where kids took turns in joining various games lined up for the launching of the newest children's book entitled, Dolpo: The Story of a Dolphin.
The beachfront was decorated for an exhilarating day-long fun extravaganza. There was the hula hoop contest, twister games and kite flying contest. It was also an event where one had the chance to show his/her artistic side. Caricatures of kids and parents were drawn and painted, which excited everyone all the more. There were face painting and a frame decoration booth. Julie Alegrado-Vergara of Maribago Bluewater Resort and Spa, one of the authors of the said book together with Leo Lastimosa (Cebuano translator), introduced the book to the families present. Dr. Iris Jakosalem-Lastimosa did a storytelling session with the young and old listeners. The kids and the parents listened attentively to Dr. Iris as she carefully read the story of Dolpo. When Dolpo, the mascot, appeared into the scene, kids rushed towards his direction for a photo opportunity. Also present during the event were media personalities along with their children and grandchildren. Maribago Bluewater Resort and Spa prepared a luau set-up lunch buffet, complete with ice cream for dessert. Parents had their day spa while waiting for the kids who were enjoying the fun activities.
The Dolpo Kids Club was also launched. Bluewater's exclusive Dolpo Kids Club offers children creative and entertaining alternatives to the typical vacation. Being a member of the Kids Club has perks outside of the resort. Discounts from retail partners and invitations to special events are enstore! Kids Club membership is open to kids 4 to 12 years old. Application forms are available at the Kids Club Center for resort guests or by purchasing the children's book Dolpo: Story of a Dolphin.
