Picturesque Europe

The Colosseo, Vatican City, Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, Leaning Tower of Pisa, gondolas in Venice… this list can go on and on and on.
For most of us, theses places are merely what we read about in our history books or places we see in the movies. Last summer, thanks to Cathay Pacific Airways and the Cebu City Tourism Commission, I was given the opportunity to travel to one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world. Where else would that be? Europe!
If I were to describe Europe in two words, I'd say that it is "diversely beautiful." Europe's definitely known for being rich in the arts, culture, and history. What amazes me about the place is that they have so graciously preserved the beauty of their past. The churches, castles, underground cemeteries, you name it. Once you step foot in any of these places, you'd feel like you've been brought back into time. But why do I call Europe "diversely beautiful?" You see, Europe's made up of several countries, each of which are very alike and also unique from each other. In my two weeks there and in the seven countries I visited, I was able to witness the differences in their architecture, the flavors in their food, the styles of their clothes, the intricacies of their languages, and the variety of the people. This was truly a breath-taking experience. It widened my horizons about the world and life, in general. Most importantly, it made me appreciate the distinctiveness of our own Cebuano culture.
Here are some pictures taken of my European sojourne:
