At Maribago Bluewater, options are indeed countless. And now, they are presenting not only for the art lovers but to the general public, a collectible art exhibit at their elegant Bluewater Gallery and Allegro Restaurant entitled "Halo-halo Espesyal" by our very own artist, Anthony Fermin.
Fermin started painting as a profession in 1994. Though he's not a native Cebuano, he really loves the Cebuanos and their culture. "Para maiba naman, maong diri nako gi-hold. Because I also want something nga kung mo exhibit man gani ko, in a place nga appropriate siya and supportive ang owner. In a resort, colorful gyud ang look, just like my paintings," Fermin shared with The Freeman.
He philosophizes art as to be alive, entertaining and elevating the spirit of every individual. Halo-halo Espesyal exhibits the different paintings of Fermin that represents everything: the joy, unforgettable experiences and the culture he encountered in every place that he travelled to.
Aside from the different kinds of assemblage he used in his paintings, Fermin mostly uses a child as a character in each work. "I love kids. Basta bata man gud, wala na silay buot but they're full of ideas.Di lang sila kasulti but they're very intelligent. I hope unta tanang tawo pareha'g batasan sa bata, away pero dili mopatay, walay gubot. Diha nako nakuha ang character nga ang bata nindot," Fermin said.
The exhibit started Wednesday, August 2 and lasted until August 23, 2006. For those who are interested to buy, the price ranges from P10,000-P40,000 each. For more information, contact Liezle Augusto at 492-1808 or 232-5411. Or visit the website, www.artmajeur.com/ferminarts.
