Cathay Pacific's changing of the guards
July 23, 2006 | 12:00am
Cathay Pacific recently bade farewell to Manager Cebu Suzanne Wong and welcomed incoming Manager Cebu, Eddie Kong.
Cathay's Bangkok-based General Manager Southeast Asia, Patrick Yeung and Country Manager Philippines Vivian Lo came down to Cebu to do the announcements over cocktails at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
Guests for the night included Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña and Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Cebu, Cui Luo Sheng, Airport General Manager Adelberto Yap, Cathay Pacific's top frequent flyers, travel agents, cargo forwarders, and media friends, among others.
Well-known comedienne, Nanette Inventor - also known as Dona Buding - regaled the crowd with her songs and antics. She also sat down with Suzanne Wong and Eddie Kong to do what she is famous for - a witty interview with both managers who gave the guests some interesting insights on how they perceive Cebu.
As the airline is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year, a video of memories from Cathay Pacific's history was also aired, giving the guests a nostalgic feeling, especially for the frequent flyers who have been flying with Cathay Pacific for many years. But as the video served to highlight that change is positive, so it was for the changing of the guards in Cebu.
So now, we say farewell, Suzanne! And welcome, Eddie.
