COMDDAP Unveils Biggest Tech Expo In Cebu

The Computer Manufacturers, Distributors and Dealers Association of the Philippines (COMDDAP) unveiled the latest and widest array of information and communications technology (ICT) products and services spread out on more than 1,800 square meters of space at COMDDAP Cebu 2006.
Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia led local officials and business leaders from Manila and Cebu in formally opening the event, which is considered the biggest ICT exhibit and selling show in the Visayas.
"As we promote IT standards in the country, COMDDAP Cebu continues to be the best venue for technology linkage and understanding between ICT vendors and consumers in the Visayas," said COMDDAP president Juan G. Chua.
The eighth edition of COMDDAP's biennial expo in the Queen City of the South, with the theme "I.T.'s happening in COMDDAP Cebu 2006!", gathered leading Manila and Cebu-based makers and vendors to showcase hundreds of new computer hardware and software products, peripherals and accessories, business solutions and services, digital gadgets and consumer electronics.
"We're happy to be back in Cebu and will always regard it as the premier ICT hub in the Visayas, in the country and even the region," said COMDDAP director and head of organizing committee Jefferson T. Plaza.
Plaza added, "The growth of the market in Cebu, spurred by incoming investments, increasing international trade and exports, has established its status as a business center that cannot be ignored at all
"Cebu's impressive governance which provides outstanding support to business and industry through infrastructure projects, and assistance to small and medium enterprises, has made it an object of envy and a model for many local governments elsewhere," Plaza said.
