The Terno Trail

- Bobit S. Avila -
Cebu, our island paradise that gently beckons local and foreign tourists alike, has more reasons to feel the revelry. In line with the provincial government's efforts to boost the tourism industry with Suroy Suroy Sugbu, spearheaded by our chic lady governor Gwen Garcia, Fiesta sa Sugbu at SM City Cebu was recently launched. Cebu's colorful and quasi-flavored cities and municipalities presented their fiestas through products and exotic food items that are distinctively their own in their respective booths and masterfully choreographed street dancing. And what is a fiesta without the festival queen in a fabulous gown?

The fabulous ternors of the Clothes for Life Foundation members traversed SM City Cebu's main halls that culminated in a mix revelry of dancing and the coronation of Reyna sa Sugbu and Festival Queen. Most notable were Protacio's draped terno in aquamarine blue, Marichu Tan's black and rust terno with asymmetric Swarovski beading and chiffon strips, Alejandro Godinez' candy colored printed terno, Francis Abao's periwinkle and ash blue terno and Hans Coquilla's ivory terno with back accent.

Ternos that generated a lot of interest were those created by Harley Ruedas, a red and black serpentined silhouette terno with vine like patterns on the bodice, Wendell Quisido's pink and silver bouffant terno and Ray Kuan's shredded black, blue and white terno that showed exemplary cut.

Kudos to the Clothes for Life Foundation, Junjet Primor, Anne Flores and Aicha Tabanera of SM City Cebu. Bravo!
