DTI Provincial Director Nelia Navarro says, "While health and wellness is virtually a baby industry in the Philippines, Cebu can be a key destination and the gateway to the rest of the region for the industry."
The DTI is currently working with, among others, Ayala Center Cebu and Perspectives Coaching Company, Ltd. (PCCL), a wellness solutions firm, in actively campaigning with the private sector to be part of this multi-billion industry.
One of the activities being lined up for this year is WELLNESS REVO 2, a sequel to last year's WELLNESS REVO. Last year's event was widely welcomed and received that a remake is well under way.
This year's event will be held at Ayala Center Cebu from June 30 to July 2, 2006. The objective is to bring national and local companies to a wellness convergence in our province.
"WELLNESS REVO 2 intends to create a highly interactive, 3-dimensional event for both the participating companies and the public," says Mr. Wylie Chavez, PCCL Partner. "We want them to interact. We want the public to not just watch, but to live, breath, and experience the wellness lifestyle courtesy of our partner companies."
Answering the DOT's global promotions theme of "The Philippines - Wellness from the Inside Out," one of the activities lined up is set to promote a lifestyle of dynamism, endurance and performance. Dubbed the BEYOND LIMITS MALL CHALLENGE, there will be 2 divisions: inter-corporate and inter-university. Pre-registered teams will climb up cargo nets, traverse in mid-air, rappel down from a height of 70 feet, climb up walls and firecracker ladders, and perform ground challenges.
To further promote a wellness lifestyle, the EISEI Wellness Expo will also be part of the festivities. With a theme of "Look Good, Feel Good.", participating industries in this interactive exhibit will be spas, personal care, physical fitness, getaways, detox activities, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, nutritionals, food and beverage, etc.
Still more activities will be held within the vicinity of Cebu Business Park, all revolving around the same theme. For interested companies and participants, you may contact Wesley, PCCL Secretariat, at 2549679.
