A night with Anna
April 22, 2006 | 12:00am
Prior to her many commitments as recently crowned Bb. Pilipinas World (a ribbon cutting here for a pizza chain of stores, several tv appearances there), we expected rare visits from model Anna Maris Igpit. We were pleasantly surprised when she called out of the blue to inform us that she was coming home to Cebu. Her school, Southwestern University, upon the suggestion of her model agent Roger Alferez, is giving her a welcome lunch cum press conference.
So we took the opportunity to strategically stage an impromptu victory dinner with fellow M.A.C.>Models Association of Cebu and a few designers, stylists and friends. Sponsored by Norkis Yamaha, through the efforts of its Group Managing Head Mr. Adolito Flores, the victory dinner was intimate albeit gastronomically fulfilling. Many thanks to Laguna Garden Café where it was held. So we trooped to celebrate and we were in for another surprise- model Charity Lagahid, whom we thought to have packed her bags for a stint with Qatar Airways, showed up to everyone's delight. You see, Ate Chat, as everyone calls her, is the agency's most senior model (not to mention the most celebrated when she won the Elite Model Look Philippines) and set a precedence for more winners in the agency.
Everyone from Supermodel Elvira Stehr to designer Edwin Ao took turns in trying on the almost-a-foot high Swarovski crown and embroidered sash. It was indeed a fun night that concluded as our dear Anna tearfully thanked everyone for the love and support. "Tears of joy," she quipped.
