A Pink Confection in Punta Engaño
March 11, 2006 | 12:00am
You simply can't miss it: triple high-rise buildings painted in rich pink with bright blue roofs. The establishment? The Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa located at Punta Engaño, Mactan Island.
Manuel Osmena, President and CEO of the property, recently hosted a lavish Chinese Food Festival at the Vanilla Beach Restaurant to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
Also on hand to warmly welcome guests was General Manager Wolfgang Maier and Marketing Communications Manager Toti Palileo.
The appetizers proved to be a feast of delights, rich enough to be the main course. They included Honey Roasted Pork, a generous spread of salmon topped with capers and lemon, crisp garden green salads with a variety of toppings and dressings, shrimp cocktails, fresh oysters and baked breads.
The main course - as promised - was divine: from poultry to pork, beef to pasta, to the sinfully calorific butter mango tart with caramel topping which were all masterfully prepared by chefs Andy and Nick from Beijing, China.
Over excellent cups of brewed coffee, Palileo expounded on the hotel's many facilities and services. They are as follows:
All 246 stylish rooms have private balconies, many with ocean view. They have cable TV, IDD telephone, and high-speed Internet access and a fully stocked mini bar.
A luxurious garden spa offers a range of body and beauty treatments while the Health Club is equipped with a steam room and professional gymnasium with daily fitness classes.
The blue waters around this resort offer a bounty of sea-bound activities such as snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, water-skiing or simply pottering about in a pleasure boat.
With all of these impressive facilities, the newly opened Hilton Resort and Spa is slowly but surely making its presence felt in the activities of Cebu. Another attraction that makes Cebu - or more precisely Mactan, Cebu - a friendly and exciting place to visit.
