Southern Belles: The Miss Cebu 2006

The four essential elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water converge with the candidates of this year's more exhilarating Miss Cebu 2006. Twelve southern belles compete for the coveted title and join the ranks of beauty and personality icons Maria Karla Bautista (Miss Cebu 2003, Bb. Pilipinas-World 2004, Miss World 200 3rd runner up and Asia and Oceana's Queen of Beauty) and Melanie Ediza (Miss Cebu 2003 and Bb. Pilipinas 2005 2nd Runner Up) who incidentally will host the pageant with celebrity hunks Borgy and TJ Manotoc. "Now on its 2nd year, this year's pageant is a breakthrough in production," quipped Cebu City Tourism Commissioner, Mr. Philip Rodriguez.

Tonight the cavernous Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City will be transformed into an enchanting set up of movable backdrops, flying artistic dancers and, of course, the de rigueur fashion collections of Cebu's top designers pulled together to depict the idyllic life of this island paradise' many facets. It is basically the promotion of Cebuano culture, arts and history as directed by ace director/choreographer Mr. Junjet Primor. This will be shown on strategically placed, gigantic Lcd screens in Ayala Center Cebu, the Capitol and Cebu Country Mall. Feeling the frenzy already?
