What was originally planned as a simple, low-profile get together of immediate family and close friends turned out to be a remarkable event and the grand reunion of classmates, friends and relations of Rev. Fr. Chris Lucero Kintanar. Ordained as the first Filipino priest at the Good Shepherd Parish in San Diego, California, USA - Fr. Chris came home quietly to fulfill his original plan. However, the news of his homecoming on the first week of June could not be hidden from the big Kintanar clan, as well as from his former classmates and close friends. The news spread like wild fire!

Thus, Fr. Chris got the biggest surprise of his life when a relative, Monsignor Rommel G. Kintanar - Mabolo Parish Priest, hurriedly laid out plans along with some other Kintanars for a solemn "canta misa" at the Mabolo Parish Church last June 17. The event, of course, because it was unexpected, came as a pleasant surprise to the new priest. What was even more surprising to Fr. Chris was the dinner reception cum program that followed the "canta misa" at the Knights of Columbus Hall at the Mabolo Parish Church premises. The memorable "canta misa" was concelebrated by Fr. Chris, Monsignor Rommel Kintanar and Fr. Chris' classmate Fr. Leyson.

One of the numbers in the post-dinner program entertained Fr. Chris the most. It was the sort of testimonial (although emcee, former Cebu City Vice Mayor and Councilor June Kintanar called it "revelation") when his former classmates fondly reminisced their funny and memorable experiences in the seminary days. The most conspicuous narrators were Fr. Jun Agravante and Fr. Hijares who came all the way from Australia. Emcee June Kintanar "adjourned" the "session" past 9PM. To Fr. Chris, more power.
