Vincent Eco reminisces on lost love in latest single

Acclaimed Cebuano singer-songwriter Vincent Eco is back with his third release of the year titled “The Way Things Go,” a song that tells the story of seeing a former lover after a long time, and the memories and feelings that rush back in because of it.

The song follows “Baby” and “Baybayon,” which were released earlier this year. The three singles are part of Eco’s upcoming six-track EP, "Sa May Baybayon" (roughly translated as ‘From The Shoreline’), which is slated to come out in January 2025. Eco revealed that the song serves as the “climax” of the central story in the EP.

“The process of making this was really fun,” he shared. “I recorded it together with Karl Lucente [of Mandaue Nights] on guitar and Aaron Domingo [of The Sundown] on backing vocals.”

“I wanted to make a song that incorporates a little bit of country folk. Even though the song is a bit sad, I hope people listen and enjoy it as much as we did making the track."

Eco added that “The Way Things Go” is a callback to the folk sound that he started his songwriting journey with. The track was co-produced with David Prendergast, an Irish producer who has worked with notable acts like Kodaline, Paul Alwright, and Overhead The Albatross. Prendergast also produced "Come Home To Me" by The Sundown, Eco’s other musical project.

“The Way Things Go” is now available on all streaming platforms.
