CEBU, Philippines — OPM icon Ogie Alcasid and versatile actor JC de Vera stay as Forever Kapamilyas after they renewed their contracts with ABS-CBN on November 4.

Expressing his happiness whenever he is called as a Kapamilya, Ogie said, "Kapag sinabing Kapamilya ka ang sarap sa puso and I mean that. It comes with feeling the honor, the distinction, and the privilege to serve. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam maging Kapamilya forever.  Thank you so much for the trust and let's keep doing it."

The multi-hyphenate artist said viewers will still see him on "It's Showtime" and "ASAP." He also shared how both shows give him the joy and motivation to work every day, especially after seeing the madlang people's reactions.

"Nararamdaman ko yung joy kapag naririnig ko na yung 'Papapa papa Rapa papapa...' Hindi ako nagpapa-corny or nagdra-drama dito but there is this energy that I feel and sense of gratitude when you see the smiles of the madlang people and of course what the program has gone through. It is the spirit you cannot deny. Sa ASAP din when I'm singing with my friends and my e and with people who are extremely gifted with singing and generous with their gifts. We always say that we are in service of the Filipino and that it is true to its core," he shared.

JC also shared his gratitude for the company's continuous trust and support.

"I want to take this time to tell everyone how thankful and grateful I am for this day. Sa ABS-CBN kasi kineep pa rin ako. They will be needing my services pa rin. I just want everyone to know that I am still growing as an actor. Alam mo na patuloy pa rin tayong binibigyan ng magagandang opportunities. I am still challenged and motivated," he said.

Since he became a Kapamilya, ABS-CBN has challenged him to take on different roles, which molded his craft as an actor.

"Ever since naging Kapamilya ako palagi akong tinetest ng network na gumawa ng roles outside of my box. Masasabi ko talaga na during my stay dito sa ABS-CBN, wala akong ginawang hindi challenging," he added.

He also revealed that viewers should watch out for his next series since he will be portraying a challenging role.

Present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer Cory Vidanes, group chief financial officer Rick Tan, TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, and their manager Rey Lanada. — (FREEMAN)
