Robin Padilla pulls off a surprise
In a surprising turn of events, action star Robin Padilla emerged as the number one senator based on the partial and unofficial returns. He leads comebacking former senator now outgoing Antique Representative Loren Legarda and broadcaster Raffy Tulfo.
We are not sure if Robin expected he will top the senatorial race. Compared to other senatoriables, he was not too visible during the campaign period. There was even an issue if he is really part of the senatorial line-up of Team Unity or not.
It was probably a pleasant surprise even for Robin that he got a huge number of votes. It was also probably a pleasant surprise for the supporters of Robin who, despite the lack of experience in politics, was able to help many people in his own way, but he didn’t make them public.
The actor often mentioned that if elected to the Senate, he will be an advocate of federalism, something that outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte had wanted to happen.
Robin was one of those who convinced Duterte to run as president in 2016. We extend our congratulations to Robin!

We would also like to congratulate Angelu de Leon for winning a seat in the City Council of Pasig City. This is Angelu’s first crack in entering politics and luckily for her, she made it on her initial try.
We knew Angelu when she started her career in Viva as a young actress. She has gone thru many challenges both in her life and her career. Challenges that made her a strong person, someone who does not back down even if life can be turbulent.
We can see the fighter in her and she is determined to succeed. What she wants, she works hard to get it.
It came as a surprise to many that Angelu decided to venture into politics but she probably wants to take a new challenge and a different direction in her life.
From being an actress and a devoted wife and mother, she is setting her yes on being a good public servant. Congratulations and good luck on your new endeavor, Angelu!

On a live Facebook video, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso has conceded defeat in the 2022 presidential race.
In the partial and unofficial returns, Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and Sara Duterte are leading the race for President at Vice-President, respectively.
Isko addressed Marcos Jr. as president-elect: “Mayroon na pong pinili ang taumbayan. I hope it can be official soon.”
He also extended his congratulations to Davao City Mayor Duterte. The election results are clear.”
He also said that he will continue his work as chief executive of Manila until his last day in office on June 30. “In a matter of few days, I will be Citizen-Isko, hindi na Yorme.”
But if he will be asked for help even as an ordinary citizen, he is willing to extend a helping hand.
